There was simply too much to tell of the day-by-day while we spent our summer in Europe this year. Working on the haus, traveling to so many cities, learning Germany all over again kept us busy busy busy.
So in honor of that time, I will just let you peruse the journey that we took through pics and vids. These are untouched, often very real looks at us sweaty and labored but we loved every, single minute of this journey.
We have a long way to go with the haus. Looking at, at least a year to finish, but when she is done she will be truly amazing and ready to open her doors to guests from around the globe! And on that note, I want to share with you something very important.
Many people have asked why we bought this house. In truth, someday I hope to live out my twilight years in Deutschland. And, surprisingly my husband has signed on for that as well. We are only in our forties though so we have some time and God may have other plans for us. But, between the end of our years and now, we want this house to be our Give Back- our blessing to all those who need it. Whether it be a place of respite after a long sickness or a home for missionaries to do their thing for a bit- it is our way of sharing God’s blessings with you.
That is why it is called El Roi Haus – the house of the God who sees me. From the very first day we found it, I knew it would be ours, but not completely. I have known in my heart that God has plans to use this home for others, in whatever way He sees fit. That is the best part of all of this; Knowing that this two-decade-long dream has been a part of His plan all along. Isn’t God just so good like that?
Enjoy the photos, I have some fun holiday trips planned in the next weeks that I will share with you: Northern California, Central Texas, Holiday lights in North Texas…
See you after I get back off the road!
P.S. – These pics and vids are in no order, WordPress is being difficult and didn’t load them in order and I have so many other writing assignments I can’t organize them. So, what you are looking at is a compilation of:
working at/on El Roi Haus, Travelling through Austria, France, Germany and The Netherlands, foods, and drinks we loved, our favorite places in Germany like Thale, Wernigerode, Berlin, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, pics from the Louvre, Paris, trains, torture museums, Christmas museums and more!
