Today I stole a couple hours away from the day and recorded an upcoming podcast in a unique nugget space on the quintessential vintage downtown street of Main in Wylie, TX.

I am really excited about the podcast, as my guest author Leah M. Hinton is beyond fabulous, but the location was not to be ignored. It almost acted as an equal partner in the vibe of the recording session. If you are writing anything that falls into the category of oddities or that might have a mad hatter, back alley book shop like in Never Ending Story, this is your mecca. The coffee house is inside of the shop, selling both new and old items of treasure. There were fake limbs, stuffed monkeys, candelabra among the random items.
So my inspiration for this post, and for my fellow creatives looking for the funky, off and things that make you chuckle, you need to make your way to Shoemaker & Hardt – Coffee House & Country Store. The coffee is really good and they don’t mind if you sit for hours building your own fantasy world.
Here are a few shots to give you a view into Wylie’s little haven of peculiarity.
